Disaster/Evacuation Plan

Unfortunately, we live in a world where natural disasters and emergencies affect every part of the planet. Whether it be tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, or wildfires, there is a possibility that at some point you will need to evacuate you and your pet, so having an emergency plan and survival kit could save your hamster’s life.

• • Prepare a disaster kit:
    • Food and Water: for at least 3 days (but ideally for 7-10 days). Replace this regularly for freshness.
    • Pet carrier: A sturdy, safe, chew-proof carrier that your pet can fit in to come with you
    • Bedding: Keep a small bag of bedding ready to go
    • Toys: A favorite chew toy or two is good
    • First Aid: Include any medications that your hamster needs
